Monday 13th July, Nantes, Britagne/Brittany
Not so much a detailed blog (I don't think, I've not written it yet), but a brief photo essay of the highlights of the last few days, with a bit if commentary.
St Jean to Bordeaux via Biarritz
The early part of the day went well according to plan. Left SJPdP (and the fabulous Les Chemins d'Elika - highly recommended if you ever happen to be there) via the train to Bayonne and another to Biarritz, and then via Bolt (an Uber-like system) onto Biarritz Airport and Alamo car hire collection (an appalling service experience, but that's a story for another day), eventually collected the car and headed north.

Of course driving a crappy little underpowered manual Citroën C3 without an up-to-date satnav system and no Android Auto/Apple Car Play functionality on the wrong side of the road is at first, shall we say, a fully nerve-wracking experience. But here we are, three days later, so it must have worked out.

Bordeaux
I've fallen in love with Bordeaux.
Before we left someone told me that driving/navigating the old town of Bordeaux is a nightmare, and so it is/was.
But all is forgiven when you get to walk around. Some scenes:

Rochefort
We had an overnight stop in Rochefort (no, not of cheese fame, my mistake), in a 400 year old military storehouse, and then onto Nantes this morning. A few more car challenges, and a bit of tension, but we made it.

Nantes
Fabulous history here. Seems like a pretty happening place too ...

Longer than I intended. Until next time ...

I want to hear about Baritz. I've not been and want to know all
Will have to backtrack on the posts, out of phone range for a while returning to the thriving metropolis of deepest darkest Dunsborough. Great building photos, there's never enough of old buildings, they explain us so well. Looks like walking has taken a break. Avagoodone. Sada and Margaret.
