Day 8 - Wednesday, 2 October 2024 - Saint-Côme d'Olt to Estaing. ~21 klms,~ 176.3 klms total.

I'm writing this from the commune of Estaing, at the end of a fascinating day of meanderings. There is much to say about Estaing, and very specifically the Estaing Castle, and I'm not going to have time to write it all. So today's post, Meanderings I, is not much more than a series of photos of the day. Meanderings II will come a bit later.

I'll start with a repeat of a photo I posted yesterday, taken from the Pont de Saint Côme d'Olt at 4pm yesterday (Oct 1).

As we crossed the bridge this morning at 9am I took essentially the same photo:

Major difference in 12 hours or so. Only a few hundred metres downstream the difference was implicitly explained (if indeed you can implicitly explain something):

To today's trail photos, many of them alongside the Lot River, or in/overlooking the Lot River valley:

One of our favourite areas in France - just stunning and so lucky to have sunshine too. Hope you are picking up some excellent lunches from the fantastic bakeries.
